The Races:

Sunday, July 27
Hare & Hound Races sponsored by Snapple
The first balloon off the field is the hare balloon. This balloon lands and puts out a giant “X”. The other pilots try to follow in its tracks. Each pilot has a bean bag they will throw if they come close to the “X”. The pilot that throws closest to the center of the “X” wins.

Wednesday, July 30
Bicyclists and balloonists pair up for a challenging Bicycle Race. Participating pilots will launch with a bike and bicyclist. After flying for a predetermined distance or amount of time, the pilot will land and let the bicyclist out, who then must cycle back to the Fairgrounds. The team who returns to the Fairgrounds first wins a cash prize. All entry fees for the race will be donated to a local charity. Rain date for this unusual event will be Thursday, July 31.

Friday, August 1
Meet Wendy the Snapple Lady for her 6th appearance at this New Jersey Balloon Festival at the Warren County Farmers' Fair. Wendy will be at the balloon ride tent from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, signing autographs and entertaining fairgoers. At 6:30 she heads to the launch field and take a ride in the Hare Balloon with Balloonmeister Fred Grotenhuis as he begins the Hare and Hound Race.

Saturday, August 2
The Ribbon Race is back. Pairs of pilots in separate balloons hold a 120-foot-long streamer between their balloons at launch. They then try to fly in sync with each other without tearing the streamer. The two pilots who fly for the longest time with the streamer in one piece win the competition.
