Our balloon festival story...
The original Hot Air Balloon Festival in Warren County was held as a small gathering of pilots at the Warren County Farmers' Fair, in 2001. It quickly became a welcomed addition to the County Fair. In 2020, when COVID prohibited the Fair from taking place, a smaller event was held at long time sponsor, Warren Community College. There were also drone demos, to highlight the expansive drone program the College had been building. The event was so successful, it started some new hot air balloon festival traditions in Warren County. In 2023 Area 57 - Flying Objects & Other Fun - was added, to focus more on technology and aviation.

In fall of 2022 the Flying Festivals of Warren County non-profit was formed to continue developing various events focused on aviation, community and the College!
